REVIEW: REVLON GROW LUSCIOUS MASCARA

In my last post, I promised a beauty entry to follow. After about 2 weeks of testing this beauty product out, I have my review!

It's the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara (waterproof formula). Overall, I'm actually not pleased with this product at all. It claims to plump & define - but rather clumps. It also claims to be waterproof, but is easily smudged at the slightest tear. I also found it to flake a bit, which I've never had any other waterproof formula do. It applied quite sloppy as well, and I found myself having to touch up my eyeliner area on my lid after every application. However, I do enjoy the green & silver packaging - giving it a sleeker feel than most drugstore mascaras in their bright neon fashions - but the brush is enormous & difficult to control.

One of my biggest pet peeves with mascara is when the product builds up at the tips of my lashes. I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same way, but sometimes product will just hang there, almost like a little ball at the tip, and it's very unflattering! I had hoped this mascara gave me what I was looking for: volume AND definition at the base - feathery at the tips. But it didn't. My grading is as follows:

---
Packaging - A
Formula - F
Definition - D
Volume - C+
Length - B
Control - C
Repurchase? No

Here are before and after photos of the first time I applied the mascara. Keep in mind that when I applied the mascara, I did so gently and as neat as possible to see what kind of control I could get. It was more defining when I first started using it, but as the days went on, the more clumpy & messiness I encountered during each application. I wanted to spare you from seeing the unsightly mess. Another detail to note- most mascaras start off wet then become drier as uses progress (due to air going in and out), but this mascara has stayed very wet, which I think is a factor with control and lack of waterproof ability.
