In the Shop: The Western Blouse

This past fall, I began a new project in my life: my Etsy shop. Cup of Three is the shop I currently run along with my mother. I photograph all the pieces, edit, and manage the creative & business aspects of it. My mother merchandises and curates every single item. She also has many handmade pieces in the works!

This blouse is one of my favourites - although it is a bit snug on me, my sister fits it perfectly. It's a Western Gingham style with some of the most beautiful embroidery I've seen on clothing. The bright color contrast makes it completely different and unexpected than most gingham shirts. These types of shirts are timeless, and I believe anyone can work them into their wardrobe no matter what type of style they possess.

Textures

It's just starting to get bitter cold in Chicago, but I'm already thinking about spring colors and textures. I've taken the entire autumn season off from designing and I really need to get back into the swing of it. For the upcoming spring, I think I'll use this board as my guide for what I want to create, or just simply imagine.

Missing London

One of the cities I was lucky enough to visit twice last year was London, and I absolutely loved it. My trips here gave me the opportunity to photograph iconic scenery and intimate moments, compared to that of the sublime & broad landscapes that Italy had to offer. The people I met and the places I went gave me one of the greatest experiences in my life thus far. I'm really hoping someday I have the chance to visit the UK again - perhaps the English countryside or Scotland.
